After his performance at Moorpark High, the Simi Valley senior can update his status to "I am a three-time league champion."

Ringgold won three events, including the 100-meter dash (11.04 seconds), the 200 (22.52) and the long jump (21 feet, 11 inches).

"I just wanted to come out here and perform," Ringgold said. "I have definitely gotten a lot stronger physically but mentally as well. I have taken my training more seriously and have stayed on top of things."

Ringgold's teammate Michael Vorgitch held off a late surge from Thousand Oaks' Marco Godinez in the last 50 meters to win the 3,200 by a 9:34.71 to 9:34.93 margin.

"It felt good to win it for the fourth time," Grumney said. "There's definitely a lot more to come in the next few weeks. I feel I got a lot base work done and can compete for the state title."

Grumney's teammate in the 4 x 400, Terry Pagano, won the 400 (50.79), followed by Bryan Avendano (51.30), who also ran a leg in the 4x400 relay.

Agoura's Johnathan Cabral continued his dominance in the hurdles races.

Newbury Park's Morgan Thompson repeated as the girls' 200 champion with a time of 25.13 and also won the 400 in 56.91, edging sister Megan.

"It's totally uplifting to race against my sister," Morgan Thompson said. "We work out and train together. Running against each other is about getting a PR and working on technique."

Morgan and Megan Thompson teamed with Michela Tomlinson and Emily Sweetman to win the 4 x 400 relay with a time of 4:01.51.

Simi Valley's Sarah Baxter won a pair distance races. The freshman finished with a personal-best 4:57.63 to win the 1,600 and clocked 10:38.09 in the 3,200.
